i’m still amazed that this vision came together!  i have so many awesome models on the big shots model team this year who are participating in various aspects of the program.  carolyn, kristi and kara signed up to be in the video.  it started as an idea and became something really cool!  we previewed the video at the kenwood theatre this past tuesday evening with a packed house!  i’ll be sharing images and the video in another post soon.  i didn’t want anything to distract from the images of these girls.  their personalities shined through in settings that were fun, hip and happening.  i’m SO glad i got to capture who they are!

carolyn and sarah laughed, sang and dance their way through the session!

so glad leah and kristi’s dog were able to join in the fun!

everything’s better with balloons!

for our second creative session, we chose to do a gossip girl theme! this popular teen series was on the air for six seasons, just ending last year. fashion is very important on gossip girl so it was the perfect inspiration for a themed session! since the show takes place in new york city it was only fitting that we headed downtown to shoot this gossip girl inspired session.

our model, hannah did an amazing job channeling the upscale modern vibe of the show. she and kaitlin had fun reminiscing about some of their favorite aspects of the show including the characters love of headbands, eating lunch on the steps of the met, and constant checking of their cell phones. we tried to incorporate all these things into the photo shoot and had a great time doing it!

creative sessions are so much fun!  they’re sessions built on a concept or a theme.  over the break, some of the big shots model team members, kaitlin and i headed downtown to shoot this mad men inspired shoot.

this shoot was AWESOME.  as with mad men, the images convey a mysterious, dark mood.  the models were totally in character.  they researched their outfits, makeup, hair, etc. and it shows!

mad men is one of my favorite shows so for many reasons, i LOVED planning and shooting this session.  i’m so excited for you to see how it all came together!

many of you have seen these images scrolling by on instagram and facebook.  i just feel like i have so much to say so i came here, to my blog!  this was day one of two shooting the class of 2014 models at the pink tulip club‘s newest location in hyde park. maria, the store owner, and i met to come up with some amazing partnering opportunities.  this was our first and all i can say is “wow”!  what an amazing store full of the most trendy, fashionable clothes.  all of the models went for a fitting beforehand.  managers whitney and sarah were on hand to help out.  it turns out they really did a great job!  all of the models had outfits on that flattered them and that they were excited to wear!  after changing into their clothes, they got professional hair styling and makeup application.  wow!  their looks combined with the awesome store decor made for some amazing images.  i’ll be showing those soon.  for now, take a look at some behind the scene iphone pic stitch collages kaitlin, my assistant, put together of the sessions in action…

it’s been a while since i last posted on the blog.  it’s not because i haven’t wanted to…it’s just that i’ve been happily busy planning for the class of 2014 model team meeting.  this year’s attendance was so great, we moved the meeting out of my home office and into one of the ballrooms at the crowne plaza hotel in blue ash.  what a great venue and an even greater bunch of juniors and their parents.  we had a lot of fun!  amy k even won an ipad mini!  i shared all the information about the program and had lots of people sign up.  i’ve had a model program for years now but this year is going to be the best by far!  i’m shaking things up and adding elements to the program to make it the most amazing in cincinnati!  we’ll be featuring all of the new model team members model sessions on the blog soon so keep your eyes open for those.
