it’s 12.12.12 so i thought i had to tie my blog post into that somehow and i did!  isabella (the older sis in these pics) is 12 years old!  perfect!  i photographed her  last year for a mini session and also wayyyy back when i had my old blog.  so much has changed since then.  she’s now taller than i am (no jokes…there are people shorten than i!!!) and has the cutest little sis ever!  they’re adorable together as you can see.  i’m so glad i was able to capture them again.  seeing kids grow up in front of my lens is such an honor for me.

ooohhh!  this family was so much fun to work with!  from the moment i met courtney and her kiddos at her home to the session itself, we just clicked.  we went through the kid’s closets to find the perfect blend of fun, colorful, coordinated outfits.  when we met i was so happy to see how well it all came together.  we set out to truly capture who they are individually and together.  i’d say mission accomplished!   their energy was boundless and their love for each other was evident.  i look forward to these images bringing a smile to their faces when they see them hanging on the walls of their new home now and for years to come.

i love when families come to me by way of other big shots families.  that’s how the “b” family came to me.  cindy was so enthusiastic when i came for her pre session consultation.  it was fun “hanging out”.  we mapped out a loose plan for the images and waited for the session date to arrive. i learned quickly that they are laid back and like to have a good time.  no wonder; they have a lab, an older daughter, chloe, and triplets;  jake, peyton and maddie.  we had fun exploring to capture who they are both individually and together!  hope you can get a sense from this mix of more “posed” shots and fun on the playground:

it was great meeting up with this family.  they came via referrals from past clients and friends which is always nice!  as you can see it was a gorgeous day and i just love shooting at this park.  plus their dog is adorable!  they’re cousin did a great job acting as dog wrangler for them.  what a great spot for a family photo session–here are my favorites!

not to put a damper on things but, now that i’ve lost my dog, i realize even more how important it is to include our furry friends in even just a few photos.  so glad they did!

i’ve learned through my husband and his brother that there is a special bond between boys.  it’s evident these two are tight and know how to have a good time!

nothing beats family togetherness; especially with one boy going off to college and the other close behind.

i love when i get to photograph a maternity session.  there’s so much happiness and hope!  in this case, there was also a gorgeous family!  can you believe shelly was seven months pregnant when this photo was taken?  what a cute little baby bump!  the nursery is all ready and so are they.
