this session was very special to me because marissa and her family have been a special part of my life for a long time.  i remember way back in the fall; talking about her session when she was not even showing yet.  now the babies are here!  marissa and joel couldn’t have been more laid back for this session.  on little sleep and with two five day old babes, they were go very “go with the flow”.  baby spit up, clothes changes, a little “wee”…nothing could shake these new parents.  and not much except hunger could keep meyer and remy from stealing the spotlight!  they’re all so lucky to have each other.  i feel blessed that i was one of the first “outsiders” to meet the babies.  they didn’t disappoint!  they are so beautiful!  take a look for yourselves at some of my fav’s:

i love watching babies grow up on the big shots baby plan.  i also love when grandparents join in for one of the sessions.  that’s one of the cool things about the plan; being able to mix things up here and there since there are multiple sessions.  we started with elliot’s newborn session, then cohen and elliot shared some brotherly love for elliot’s four month session.  this time we have 9 month old elliot, big brother cohen and both sets of grandparents.  i’d say the kids are very lucky to have so many people who love them close by.  and i’m happy to be able to capture who they are together!  here are some of my fav’s…

love the tender touch from cohen to elliot.

mommy, michelle, didn’t have a starring role but did a great job in her supporting role to help elliot stand up!

hadley is one! since hadley is part of the big shots baby plan, i’ve photographed hadley throughout the year to capture who she is as she grows and changes. it’s been so much fun getting to know her and her parents and watching her blossom.  i can’t believe it was one year ago when she was just a newborn and then a not yet walking eight month old.  she has grown a LOT!  i went over to her house for the big birthday celebration where we began on the same chair i shot her on when she was only eight days old and ended with a cake smash followed by a bath.  we were lucky enough with the weather to get outside for a bit too!  these images best convey what hadley’s birthday session was all about:

she looks like she’s ready to break free and run on her own!

getting messy is half the fun…

…bathing in the sink is so much fun too!  i love the “after cake bath” images.  the kids just seem to enjoy it so much!

happy weekend everyone!   thought i’d share this sweet lil’ cutie to give you something to smile about.  what a pleasure little maggie was at her session.  she was three months old and full of personalty!  thanks to aunt meghan who bought this lovely family a gift certificate for them to use when they came to cincy.   they are from chicago so i caught up with them at grandma and grandpa’s house where it was cozy and warm.  that’s one of the good things about baby sessions; they take place inside so weather isn’t a concern.  that’s important around these parts this time of the year (where’s the snow, by the way?).  enjoy some of my favorites from that session.

she’s got to know how cute she is!

see the way he’s looking at her?  daddy’s girl for sure!

love these connection images.  it’s about what you feel when you look at the image.

christmas AND a kiss from mom and dad. what could be better?

i can’t really move on to 2012 until i wrap up 2011!  the last session i did was with a returning client.  i was so excited to hear from jacquie.  she came to me a few years ago when her daughter, isabella, was having her first communion and we hit it off great.  she’s got a really laid back attitude that just rubs off on those around her.

i met up with them again but this time, jacquie brought along her new husband and baby lena!  i love when people’s lives grow and change in such positive ways.  i can tell they’re all happy to be together.  isabella is a gorgeous 5th grader now who loves her new school and, it seemed, her new baby sister too!  so glad i got to capture these girls being who they are with each other.

lena looks so ladylike on the slide!

what a look!

you can feel the love being squeezed from isabella to lena. sisters are so special!
