here is the continuation of the blog post from yesterday.   these girls brought a more contemporary flair to our vintage set up.  what’s that saying?  “everything old is new again”?  i think it’s great when new and old mesh.   i guess picnic baskets, cupcakes, coke bottles and guitars never go out of style when modeled by and with these amazing girls!  we all had so much fun!  can’t wait until the next styled session!

one of the many, many reasons i love being a photographer is that i get to style and design sessions.  this picnic session has been in my head for quite some time.  i’m so glad i had some amazing  girls who saw my vision!  we had some models who went the more vintage route and some who kept it modern.  today i’m showcasing the vintage images and details from our session.  the other images will follow.

i definitely recommend having a plan when deciding to do a styled session.  kaitlin and i wrote down everything i would need.  i scoured  my house for items and couldn’t believe all of the things i already had like picnic baskets and old time cameras.  then i shopped at the thrift shops and made some last minute stops for the fresh items like cold glass bottle cokes, flowers and cupcakes.

the clothes are important!  for any picnic, clothes need to be easy, breazy.  these girls were very feminine and flirty.  we had french music playing to set the mood.

the location was perfect as well.  we knew we wanted to be under a tree but also needed great light since it was the middle of the day.  we lucked out!

i’m so excited to be sharing the details and images with you.  a styled shoot really gives clients a chance to get an editorial session that captures a different side of who you are.  as a stylist, i can help with themes and all of the things that go into making it all come together.  i’ll be featuring more styled sessions on the blog and am offering styled senior and family sessions as well!  stay tuned tomorrow for our more classic picnic fun!

it’s all in the details and the attitudes!  these are just some of the goodies i got to make the session and the models feel special.

oh, and bubbles, books and bikes!  so many fun props and so many fun girls!

in honor of opening day a few weeks ago, we decided to do this model sports themed session.  we had a blast while the girls showed their spirit for the reds, bengals and yankees!
