Archive for January, 2011

look at those eyes.  and that hair.  little andrew is a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e.  to say the least.  and why shouldn’t he be?  his mom is and has always been super adorable herself.  i’ve known lindsey her whole life so when she facebook messaged me that she and hubby, eric, wanted me to photography andrew, i was excited.  i go waaaaaaaaay back with her family and look forward to continuing our family ties as i photograph him throughout the year during his big shots baby plan. while i typically photograph baby’s first session between days 5-10, i knew this little seven week old would be a natural.  and he was.  so calm and easy going.  can’t wait to watch him grow!

those eyes…swoon…

love when families use special items, like these blankets, to personalize their sessions.

wow! that just about sums up this session. grace called to book a snow session. i figured she’d come with mittens, scarves & layers upon layers. i mean, i was dressed for the tundra. but boy was i wrong about grace! she is on the crew team and is used to the cold weather. (just to brag a bit about her-she is going to boston college on a crew scholarship). she wanted to embrace the cold snow and she did. i give her bigtime kudos for jumping in with both feet…literally! i’m just so impressed with grace for being such an all around great girl. btw-if you want a snow session, let me know. i’ve started a waiting list so when mother nature pours it down on us again, i will start calling.

I love Big Shots Photography and working with Marla for a lot of reasons! The whole experience was marvelous. Marla was really down to earth. She had a ton of ideas and they were all genius! Sometimes shoots can be awkward. But with Big Shots, the whole shoot was comfortable and relaxed. Marla got to know me before she took any of the pictures so that she would be able to capture who I was…and she definitely did! I will be recommending Big Shots to anyone who needs pictures done!

A video farewell

01.14.11

what a year it was! thanks to everyone who helped make 2010 our best year ever! as you can see from the video, i have the best clients ever!

from my family to yours, we hope your holiday season was a happy one and wish you a very happy new year.

i still have two more families to post before i can truly “close the books” on 2010.  it was a GREAT year filled with fun sessions and amazing clients.  i’ll start with a returning Big Shots family (just the kids and dog this year) and then move onto a family who just moved back to town.  welcome back “f” family and welcome to the “r” family!  it was a pleasure.

last year i met the “f” family at their home.  this year we ventured to the park.  mixing things up is a good thing sometimes.  it cracked me up that mom and dad wore sweats so there was no way i could convince them to get in the portraits this year.  good thing they have such adorable children!

what a difference a year makes.  they change so much from session to session.  kinda’ neat to see them grow up!

and now for the “r” family.  i knew julie way back when our kids were babies and then she moved away.  now she and her family are back in the ‘nati so let’s welcome them with a showcase of some of my fav’s from their session.

i am so close with my dad.  i get the love these two share and hope it grows and grows.  these “daddy’s little girl” images are always so magical.

on the other hand, my first was a boy so it tugs at my heart to see a mom and her sons.  such a special bond.

ahhh…so important to remember mom and dad.  they were looking at their kids in this image.
